What is The Minute to Win It Games?

The minute to win game requires contestants to complete a task in sixty seconds. It is named – “The Minute to Win Game” because you literally have a minute to complete your task.

One of the reasons that these Minute to Win It games are so popular is because they are so easy to understand and fun to play. Minute to Win It Games are popular among kids, but adults can also join in and have a very good time.

Another positive thing about the minute to win game is that you can play using everyday items found around the home like empty soda bottles, pencils, and other materials.

Also, any one of these games can be played at parties, at home, or anywhere else. However, some people have taken the minute to win games to the next level by hosting large events where people gather to compete with one another.

Sometimes, there are prizes involved for the winners. For the most part, people like to play for the fun of it – and of course, bragging rights! These events tend to be more informal and are more about people having a good time, but it doesn’t mean that the games are any less competitive, though.

Origin of Minute to Win It Games

If you are wondering how the Minute to Win It games came to be, you can thank TV.

Yes, these games were first introduced on a game show called, you guessed it, Minute to Win It.

The show aired on NBC in 2010 and included host Guy Fieri. Shortly afterwards, the show moved to the Game Show Network, with host Apolo Ohno.

Minute to Win It may have started in the United States, but it soon found a fan base in other parts of the world as well. Brazil, Germany, Australia, and the UK were some of the countries that saw a similar version of the game.

Variations of the Minute to Win It Game

The Minute to Win It Game has several variations. You can play head to head games, 2 vs. 2 games, Multiplayer games and Relay games

Head to Head Minute to Win It Games

The Head to Head version is where two people from opposing teams have to compete. The person who wins the most number of games out of seven is the champion.

2 vs. 2 Minute to Win It Games

Then, you have the 2 Vs. 2 variety, which involves two people on each team trying to complete the given task before (or better) than the other team.

Multiplayer Minute to Win It Games

In multiplayer games, participants can compete against several other people. There are no teams, and everyone is playing for themselves. Their place will depend on their individual performance. Multiplayer games are the best Minute to Win Games for kids to play at sleepovers.

Relay Minute to Win It Games

The Relay games have certain similarities with the 2 Vs. 2 versions because there is more than one person on each team. The exact number depends on the task. With the Relay version, one person needs to complete the round before the other person on the team can start.

Materials Needed:

  • 4 empty soda bottles per player
  • Gumballs

2. This Blows

Here, you will need to use the air inside a balloon to knock over the upturned cups. Each person needs to blow up their balloon, and use this air to knock the cups off the table and onto the ground. The competitor will need to keep re-inflating the balloon and pick up from the last standing cup. Here is a fun video showing some people trying it out:

Materials Needed:

  • 1 balloon per player
  • Plastic cups

3. Face the Cookie

This is one of the more delicious games on the roster. Each player has a cookie on their forehead. Using only their facial muscles, they will need to move this cookie, to their mouth. These contestants do an amazing job of it!

Materials Needed:

  • One empty tissue box per player
  • Ping pong balls of two different colors

Once the cotton ball has stuck to your nose, you will need to walk across the room and deposit the ball in another bowl. You will then need to go back and repeat the process. This is how you will need to do it.
